Review: Three Little Words By Susan Mallery (Fool's Gold 12)

"If you think of each wedding gown as a very delicate princess," Isabel said with a grin. "From a family with a lot of inbreeding. At any second, there could be disaster. We're here to keep that from happening"
Can first love turn into the real deal? Anything can happen in a sizzling new Fool's Gold story from New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery.

Isabel Beebe thinks she's cursed in the romance department. Her teenage crush, Ford Hendrix, ignored all her letters. Her husband left her for another...man. So Isabel has come home to dust off her passion for fashion and run the family bridal shop until her parents are ready to sell it. Then she'll pursue her real dreams. At least, that's the plan, until sexy, charming Ford returns and leaves her feeling fourteen all over again.....

Seeing Isabel all grown-up hits bodyguard trainer Ford like a sucker punch. Back when heartbreak made him join the military, her sweet letters kept him sane. Now he can't take his eyes--or his lips--off her. The man who gave up on love has a reason to stay in Fool's Gold forever--if three little words can convince Isabel to do the same.

My Review

So Isobel fell in love with Ford at 14. One PROBLEM! He's her sister's fiancee! When tragedy happens and Ford leaves Fool's Gold, Isobel writes him while he's away in the military. She writes him until she meets "the one" and then stops, never knowing if Ford has ever even received her letters.

14 years pass by and Ford returns to Fool's Gold. His mother is holding applications to find him and his brother a wife. Isobel is not in competition as she is leaving at the end of the summer to go to NYC to start her fashion career. It's a slow build up with love between these two! They pretend to date to keep Ford's mother at bay, become friends and then fall in love. They have their stumbling blocks though.

I swear, I could move to Fool's Gold! The way Susan Mallery creates this small town, life seems so sweet and friendly! The whole town comes together in times of crises' and I love to watch the girls hang out at Jo's Bar!

Review: The Bridesmaid by Julia London

“In there is the ugliest, most hideous, god-awful poufy piece of peach taffeta in the history of mankind.”

Trains, Planes, and Automobiles! Oh My!

Julia London does it again! Perfectly lovable short story on how Joe and Kate survive a freak storm, transportation strike, only one car rental left and a wedding to get to!  The sparks fly in this story! The conversations between the couple are funny and engaging! The chemistry compelling!

We should all be lucky to have such encounters in a busy airport! Travelers who have ever been stuck in an airport will LOVE this story!

Thank you to Julia London and NetGalley for the ARC!
